National Numeracy Strategy
At Lostock Hall we have used the guidance in the National Numeracy Stratergy in order to design our maths curriculum.
This is a comprehensive scheme to improve numeracy throughout the country. It sets out what children should learn each term. It begins in the foundation stage and continues into the first years of secondary school. Children will usually spend an hour a day on this subject, which is heavily weighted towards mental calculation rather than traditional sums.
